VeraScan Terms of Use

1. Provider and scope

yeodarim provides the VeraScan Android app and its online address checks. These terms describe how you may use the service. VeraScan is intended for a general audience aged 13 and over.

2. QR scanning and check results

VeraScan displays QR content and link destinations so you can review them before opening them. Checks help identify known threats and certain warning signs in addresses. A result does not guarantee a website is safe. The app does not check the final redirect destination or page content. Verify the source of unfamiliar links before entering passwords or payment information.

3. Optional online checks

When you choose an online check and confirm the notice about sending the address, the selected web address is sent through yeodarim’s server to Google Web Risk. It may include a path or query parameters. Mobile data may be used. You can choose to use local checks only.

4. Rewarded ads and online access

Watching an ad and sending an address are separate choices. Rewarded ads are served through Google AdMob. yeodarim does not guarantee third-party ad content or the products or services advertised.

• If you have no pass or your pass has expired, a verified ad reward grants a new pass. The new pass lasts six hours from the time the server verifies the reward, even while the app is closed or unused.
• The pass includes 30 external lookups. On-device checks and cached results do not count. A lookup can count if it fails after the request has been sent to the external checking service. If you use all your lookups before the pass expires, a verified reward from another ad adds 30 lookups and keeps the existing expiry time.
• The pass is available only to the app installation that earned it. A remaining pass cannot be recovered after uninstalling and reinstalling the app or clearing its data. A pass cannot be transferred to another person or device or exchanged for cash. There is no payment to refund for a pass granted as an ad reward.

Ad availability, app verification, server limits, or outages may make online checks unavailable. The pass still expires at its scheduled time and is not automatically extended. Contact us if a reward does not appear or an outage prevents you from using a pass. This does not limit any remedies available under applicable law.

5. External sites and scope of responsibility

Third-party websites and apps have their own policies. yeodarim is not responsible for third-party content or conduct merely because it is accessible through a QR link. If yeodarim is responsible for a loss that occurs on an external website or app, yeodarim remains liable as provided by applicable law. This clause does not exclude or limit liability for intentional misconduct or gross negligence by yeodarim, its employees, or anyone it uses to provide the service, or any liability that cannot be limited by law.

6. Prohibited use and access restrictions

• Sending automated or bulk requests.
• Bypassing usage limits or verification.
• Manipulating ad rewards or reward records.
• Calling the server API directly outside the VeraScan app without authorization.
• Otherwise interfering with the service or its use by others.

If we confirm a violation, we may restrict online features for that installation to the extent and for the duration needed to protect the service. You can request a review of the restriction using the contact below.

7. Service changes and interruptions

We may change or discontinue online checks or the pass system for reasonable security, legal, third-party provider, or operational reasons. We will announce material changes to the service or these terms and planned service interruptions in the app or on our website in advance. If an event such as a security incident requires immediate action, we will give notice as soon as reasonably possible afterward.

Where possible, existing passes remain usable on their original terms until they expire. If a change or interruption makes that impracticable, we will explain the effect on existing passes and provide information about available alternatives or how to contact us. We will take any measures required by applicable law.

8. Governing law, privacy, and contact

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea. You retain any mandatory consumer protections in your country of residence and access to dispute resolution procedures available under applicable law.
